Planning your new pool is exciting, but it’s also something you need to get right first time, so it’s important to put some thought into it. You’ll want a pool that suits your needs, and also a design that you love, that suits your property and your style. You want to be able to look at your pool every day and it make you smile. One of the decisions you’ll need to make is the type of tiles you have in your pool. Your tile choice gives you a great opportunity to truly personalise your pool design and you’ll find a wide range of sizes, colours and textures to choose from.
When it comes to choosing the type of tiles for you pool, there are no right or wrong choices, however, there may be a type of tile that is better suited to your requirements, or simply a style that works best with your shape of pool and blends in better with the surrounding area.
Large-sized Tiles
You can opt for a plain colour that blends in with your garden, or you can go wild with an amazing colourful design. The choice is entirely yours. It’s always wise to choose good quality tiles that will last a long time, or you’ll have to spend more down the line replacing them. With regards to tile sizes, you can choose from a wide range such us 12.5x25cm, 10x30cm, 20x20cm, 20x30cm, 30x60cm, etc. The larger size of tiles is recommended for more rectangular shapes of pools rather than round/oval.
Mosaic Tiles
Mosaic tiles certainly make an impact! You’ll find them available in range of materials such as ceramic, porcelain and glass. Glass mosaic tiles are very popular at the moment and they do look amazing with their iridescent colours giving a truly breath taking effect. Mosaic tiles come in sheets, so they’re not as tricky and time consuming to install as you might think. These sheets can be easily cut to size making fitting mosaic tiles a good option for an awkward shaped pool. The most popular sizes for mosaic tiles are 2.5x2.5cm and 5x5cm.
